Delaying Tactic Too Obvious

FijiTV News reported last night that HE The President, Rt Josefa Iloilo, had rejected illegal Attorney General, I-Arse Khaiyum’s, list of nominations for the Tribunal to investigate the allegations against the lawful Chief Justice, Daniel Fatiaki.

This of course is Khaiyum’s devious (but obvious) way of “delaying” the setting up of the Tribunal.

Kahiyum knows full well that there is no credible evidence against Fatiaki and that a truly independent tribunal will show that to be the case.

Given however that the EU had given some very strict guidelines on the timeframe for when the allegations against Fatiaki should be brought before a competent tribunal, the IG found themselves in somewhat of a dilema…

…if they form the Tribunal, they expose their own mistake in sacking Fatiaki and if they don’t, they incur further displeasure of the international community.

So what do they do?

They put Khaiyum’s devious plan into play.

First, they pretend to be genuinely interested in moving forward with this inquiry and so pull out three (random) names from their collective butts.

Second, they then instruct the President’s Secretary, Rupeni Nacewa (see picture here), to prepare a statement on behalf of the President (who doesn’t really know whats going on) declaring that the names are not appropriate.

You can be sure that HE The President did not actually get to see the names.

The President (ie. Rupeni Nacewa) then grants I-Arse a further 60 days to find replacement nominees thus buying him much needed time.

Clearly, this whole exercise was about buying more time.

More time to find or fabricate non-existent evidence against Fatiaki and the other members of the SDL Coalition Government (minus the FLP members).

More time to stay in power at the expense of the people of Fiji.

For obvious reasons, the EU will not be happy with this delaying tactic - and make no mistake about it, they will see it for what it really is.

But the IG (through Khaiyum) has already set up HE The President to take the fall for this - ie. if the EU withdraws all its goodwill (and funds).

It was by all accounts, a CHEAP MOVE by a sneaky scoundrel of a man.

What is unfortunate about all this is that once again NACEWA has willingly collaborated with his true masters and put the President’s Office and Rt Iloilo himself into harms way and into disrepute.

I imgaine the people of Vuda will now start counting the days to when Khaiyum and Nacewa will pay for their disservice to their ailing Chief.
