FRANK AND HIS JUNTA RACIST
KoManDa’s claim on a TV NZ interview that one of the reasons behind the 5/12 coup was the racist and discrimination policies promoted by the ousted SDL party is a very hard pill for many to swallow.
Frank’s very own military government is clearly turning out to be anti-Fijian. One that is moving very fast to de-Fijianize indigenous Fijians by dismantling the very core of the Fijian administration in the Great Council of Chiefs. They do not have the Fijian support who represent close to 60% of the total Fiji population, thus making them a truly anti-Fijian interim administration.
Illegal Minister of Fijian Affairs, Epeli Ganilau’s very weak explanation on the so-called Fijian administration restructure program is turning out to be a major blunder. It just doesn’t stick with the target group he is suppose to be championing, the native Fijians. These Fijians have already made up their mind. As far as they are concerned, all that Epeli Ganilau, Epeli Nailatikau, Voreqe, Mahen and everyone associated with the junta is trying to do is ”steal” their hereditary right from their traditional natural resources and turning it into a cash generating machine for themselves.
To these Fijians, they would rather sit on these resources and leave it untouched except for the nourishment of their subsistence lifestyle. It makes more meaning to them to connect with their heritage through their unspoilt mother nature resources. They get a “kick” out of it. Just like how others get a kick out of material things that is generated out of money.
It is this unsaid desire in Fijians to leave their natural resources alone and not rape it with too much commercialization that is driving Frank and his coup clux clan nuts. They want to dictate their terms to Fijians to let go of their resources for a few decades and allow others to work it to make money for everybody.
But the Fijians, in the past seven months have shown something extraordinary. Through their silence, Frank and his junta are hearing loud and clear the unspoken Fijian thought-waves sending out the common message, “over our dead bodies”.
