FIJI LABOR PARTY AN EMBARASSMENT TO WORLD LABOR MOVEMENT

The dragged-out strained relation between Fiji and New Zealand is unravelling another interesting political folly.

It is turning out to be a battle between two sister Labor parties, Helen Clarke’s NZ Labor Party and Mahen Chaudhry’s Fiji Labor Party. Sources say Helen and the World Labor Movement is not happy that Mahen has dragged their Labor tag in association with a coup-maker regime. They are also upset with the manner Mahen has conveniently breached every Labor rules under the sun to save his sorry political backside.

Helen was hoping that the FLP leader, Mahen, will help NZ broker something positive for Fiji/NZ foreign relations. Unfortunately for Helen, Mahen turned his back on her and supported the expulsion of NZ Labor Party’s appointed High Commissioner to Fiji, Michael Green.

Australia understood that NZ is capable of speaking some sense to Frank’s coup clux clan given NZ’s Labor connection to Frank & Mahen’s Labor Party military regime. But as we all know, it was never to be as Frank and Mahen continue on with their self-centered and self-preservation power struggle.
