Peanuts And Monkeys

Fiji Nursing Association General Secretary Kuini Lutua has described the deal made by her fellow CPSU members FPSA and FTU as amounting to “peanuts”. You can read the story here.

She said FPSA and FTU executives DID NOT fight hard enough - no suprises there!

She said they could have and should have gotten more.

The FNA is therefore “geared up’ for a nationwide strike come July 24 unless a fair agreement can be reached with the IG.

Meanwhile FICTU member Unions have simply rejected the “deal” altogether calling on the FNA to leave the CPSU and join them. FNA has respectfully declined this offer.

HnC has great faith in Kuini Lutua and trusts that she will do the right thing by her members.

From what I know of her, she has a whole lot more intergrity than those three stooges (Rajeshwar Singh, Agni Deo and Felix Anthony) and she backs down to no one!

I was not therefore suprised when she opted to steer clear of the “sell-out”… I mean agreement signed by her traitorous colleagues.

Clearly these three stooges had betrayed the members of the public service who depended on them to fight tooth and nail for the reistatement of the unjustified deductions to their salary.

The civil servants had relied on their Union leaders to put aside their loyalties to FLP and put the interests of the union members first - ie. to ensure at all costs that they still have their jobs when they turn 55 because at that age a lot of them would still be paying off their mortgages and trying to put their children through University.

But the FPSA and FTU executves aka ”monkeys” decided that they would rather settle for the promise of a steady supply of “peanuts” from the IG.

HnC understands the betrayal by these Union executives has divided the civil service - most of whom believe they’ve been sold out.

HnC encourages the Union members to call for an Emergency General Meeting of their respective Unions and call for the replacement of their traitorous executives.

After that HnC encourages the Unions to have the agreement cancelled because it did not and does not reflect the wishes of the majority of the Union members - ie. that the three stooges were acting outside their “mandate”.

Civil servants need to organise this now or they won’t be able to complain later when come December 2007, the IG changes its tune again.
