MAHEN CHAUDHRY HATES TOURISM INDUSTRY

Mahen’s strong statements against the tourist operators at the recent Fiji Accounting Congress and Fiji Tourism Congress only confirm what most people already know i.e that Mahen hates the tourist industry to bits

Why? Because it employs majority Fijians and is the very sector where indigenous Fijians are able to prove that their hospitality skills can also win big time foreign reserves.

But this is the very thing that Mahen Chodo does not want to see. He hates the fact that the Tourism industry has by-passed his pet sugar industry and he refuses to accept that displaced sugarcane farmers may just become very good hotel workers like the Fijians. Why? Because he will lose his stronghold on them, and their votes. He fears that these sugarcane farmers will become loyal to their new employer who will always promote peace and stability in Fiji, something that Mahen can not guarantee whenever he is in power. In other words, these sugarcane farmers will eventually experience a new lease of life and new opportunties making them realise how oppressive and deceitful their previous life was under Mahen Chodo’s political circus. They will without doubt change their political preference in favor of the one that will protect their jobs.

As we have always highlighted, Mahen Chodo is a seasoned politician who will use everything under his power to buff up his political status. Forget about the people’s needs, his political survival comes first and everyone else last.
