RATU INOKE TOLD BY MILITARY TO KEEP AWAY FROM SUVA
Insiders have confirmed to WFC that the military gave orders to Ratu Inoke Takiveikata that he relocate to relatives in the West due to supporters who were turning up in huge numbers at his Suva home after his release from jail on Monday night.
The military were concerned that the supporters might create a human shield for Ratu Inoke, similar to that experienced outside Qarase’s home when he was under house arrest. Large congregation of indigenous Fijians is something the military were instructed by their bosses to disband as soon as it starts building up.
WFC insiders say Ratu Inoke was moved to the West early hours of yesterday to avoid unnecessary attention. His vehicle was followed by unmarked military rental cars.
Sources say Ratu Inoke’s movement is still restricted and he has been ordered by the military not to make public appearances or statements until further notice.
