MALAYSIA PRESSURED BY INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY & WORLD HUMAN RIGHTS BODY
The pressure is on. Yesterday’s self-confirmation by human rights violator, Pita Driti, that he will be seconded to Malaysia as Fiji’s Ambassador, is facing full-on resistance from the international community and head offices of global human rights bodies.
WFC is aware that the Malaysian Prime Minister and their Minister of Foreign Affairs have been alerted and provided with detailed reports by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, UN and the international community.
Driti, who is Frank’s Military Forces Land Force Commandore was instrumental in rounding up pro-democracy civilians and also took part in torturing them at the barracks.
And WFC has this to say to the Malaysian leaders - please do not condone having a known human rights abuser gracing your Malaysian diplomatic corp community. Accepting Pita Driti will send the wrong signal that Malaysia condones Driti’s barbaric human tourture acts. Reject Driti outright for he does not have the mandate of Fiji’s peoples.
